Tao Lin (林韬) is a PhD student at Tongji University's Design A.I. Lab, jointly established with Tezign.

Background
Tao Lin (林韬) is currently a PhD student at the Tongji–Tezign Design A.I. Lab. Tao's work sits at the intersection of human–computer interaction, immersive computing, and design research.

Current direction
Exploring computational design and computational models of affordance perception, with a focus on multimodal interaction in AR/VR and spatial computing.
Beyond research / 研究之外
Outside research, I have played tennis for ten years and can read German. I hope to study architecture one day and am especially fascinated by the dougong bracket systems of traditional Chinese architecture. I also draw from time to time.
Recently, I have started collecting miniature cars. I listen to a lot of rock music; some of my favorite bands are Carsick Cars, Shanghai Qiutian, Pink Floyd, Omnipotent Youth Society (万能青年旅店), America, and Sadistics.
I enjoy browsing record shops, taking snapshots with a point-and-shoot film camera, and collecting vinyl. I have watched many films, although lately I have not been reading as often. I have no dietary restrictions.
研究之外，我已经打了十年网球，也能够阅读德语。我一直希望有机会系统学习建筑，尤其着迷于中国传统建筑中的斗栱结构；闲暇时也会画一点画。
最近开始喜欢收藏小车模型。我常听摇滚乐，喜欢的乐队包括 Carsick Cars、Shanghai Qiutian、Pink Floyd、万能青年旅店、America 和 Sadistics。
我喜欢逛唱片店，用一台傻瓜胶片相机随手拍照，也收藏了不少黑胶唱片。我看过不少电影，不过最近读书少了些。饮食上没有忌口。
